Candle kieselguhr filter , HGMC Kieselguhr Candle Filter is used for filtering liquids such as beer, wine, etc. Filtration is carried out by means of filter diatomaceous earth washed on vertically mounted filter candles.
The diatomaceous earth filter is characterized by high filtration efficiency and economical operation. Depending on the composition of the filter layer, different levels of purity and flow of the filtered liquid can be achieved.
Thanks to the dosing pump, which adds diatomaceous earth during the process, the filter maintains a stable throughput, which determines its high performance. Cleaning (regeneration) of the filter is simple and fast, without the need to remove the pressure tank.
We are able to manufacture the size of the filter with a filtration area from 0.5 m2 to 100 m2 at the request of the customer.
The filtering layer consists of a filtering material (most often diatomaceous earth), washed on a filtering support - a stainless steel candle of a special design, which ensures strength, durability and high efficiency of the equipment. Filter medium - suspension (most often diatomaceous earth) is prepared in a mixing tank. The base layer is applied to the candle using a fast coating method - with the help of a circulation pump, kieselguhr, which is in the liquid stream, sticks to the surface of the candle and thus forms a filter layer.
The liquid to be filtered with the help of a circulation pump flows through the filter layer, on which mechanical particles of turbidity are trapped. In order for the filtration cycle to be efficient (retaining a large amount of impurities) and economical, it is necessary to add a certain amount of kieselguhr to the candle during the process with a dosing pump. In this way, the sludge remains in a permeable state, which maintains long-term filtration efficiency. After filtration is completed, it is removed from the candles either manually or by semi-automatic hydraulic flushing. Kieselguhr filtration provides low operating costs per filtered liquid volume, high productivity and efficiency.
